The Tool Crib Attendant/Buyer will purchase, store and issue tools/tooling, materials, services, and equipment for the shop, and purchase materials and services for other divisions as needed. 

Ehrhardt Engineered Solutions is a precision manufacturer that designs and builds custom tools, dies, special machines, automated equipment and fully integrated solutions from concept to final specification.  Ehrhardt also manufactures critical use nuclear fuel products and assemblies for the commercial nuclear power industry.

Responsibilities       

  1. Following safety regulations and reporting violations/unsafe conditions to management.
  2. Preparing purchase orders to replenish stock, or utilizing VMI system for ordering when possible.  Negotiation with suppliers to ensure best price and delivery.
  3. Unpacking, storing, and organizing incoming tools, supplies, and equipment.
  4. Issuing tools, equipment, and supplies and maintaining accurate records from time of issue through time of return.
  5. Locating lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
  6. Preparing periodic inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies.
  7. Reporting savings and other departmental metrics as required.
  8. Sharpening tools, drills, and endmills or coordinating sending tools out for sharpening.  Ensuring that tools in house are ready to use and in good shape.
  9. Ensuring that tools and equipment are properly identified and marked.

 Deliverable Outcomes

 The Tool Crib Attendant/Buyer will be responsible for delivering results that include the following:

  1. Ensure that the shop is stocked at optimal levels with the correct tooling and equipment to keep production running efficiently.
  2. Contribute to company savings goals by effectively managing RFQ, negotiating, and PO processes internally and with suppliers.
  3. Contribute to company quality measures by utilizing first class suppliers.

Qualifications

  1. In-depth technical knowledge of machining and tooling technology.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and 3-5 years of relevant experience in coordinating or administrating tool room duties along with purchasing tooling, equipment and materials in a manufacturing environment, OR an Associate's Degree or higher and 2 years of relevant experience, with preference to candidates that have earned a degree, technical degree or certificate in a related field such as Business or Supply Chain Management.
  3. Ability to sit and work at a computer for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint) and able to utilize these tools to manage tasks, organize daily workflow, generate reports and documents and communicate internally and externally to the organization.
  5. Experience using shop management or MRP/ERP software is desired. Experience using JobBoss software is a plus.
  6. Ability to understand and interpret business correspondence (quotes, emails, etc.) and independently make decisions based off of the data provided.
